April 19, 2008: The calm before the next adventure.
We
have been bad bloggers! It is hard to write a blog when there really isn't very much to write about. We've just been ticking along with work, trying to keep our heads above water.

Lambing is well underway. It is nice to look out a window and see lambs cavorting around in groups. They seem to really enjoy a good game of chase. Of course, we have a few border collies eagerly wanting to join in. A couple of the dogs seem completely perplexed by the lambs. Roy races off to see what is wrong everytime a lamb bleats. He towers over the lambs and yet he is like a mother hen wanting to protect his charges. Ace and Tina think the lambs are great as they are more their size. Sioux is still hoping she'll get the chance to round them all up and bring them to the front door for us. Jet is keen to make sure no ewe leaves her lambs behind.

Around here it is not uncommon to see lambs in neighbours' front yards exploring their way around perfectly manicured front lawns and stomping their way through neatly arranged flower beds. Lambs on the road are just as common. It really does seem that grass is greener on the other side of the fence.

Next week we start a new adventure as we take a 6-month break to head off to as many trials as we possibly can over the summer. We can't wait. Our dogs are a bit rusty having not trained for almost 5 weeks now so we are bound to be among the 'also-rans' at many trials. But who knows. Perhaps lady luck will shine on us for even one day! Stay tuned.
