August 8, 2010: Happy Birthday...
Bee! (and brothers and sisters). Two years old today.

...and to celebrate, we spent some time searching for Jamie. Jamie went out running with Kelvin, ran into some foxhounds, which he hates with a passion, and disappeared. To cut a long story short, he has been found safe and sound, and none the worse for wear. The good news is, Kelvin got a much longer run than planned, as did the other dogs who went with him.

While all this was happening, I managed to wash my mobile phone...please don't call the mobile number as it is no longer working.

Oh, we have been out trialling but my handling has been rubbish all week long. A shame for Meg who is running very well. Jamie needs work (and I need a kick in the rear end on my handling of him)! Sioux needs a rest. Kelvin's dogs ran well at the double fetch trial with Tina doing a stunning look back - one of the best of the day. The wheels fell off in the shedding ring but all before it was very encouraging.

We have too much work to do at home!!! Last week Kelvin built a new gate to contain the young dogs in the dog play area. It lasted a full 24 hours before one of them - we think Steffi - smashed it. Brat! Kelvin is about to start building another one...with thicker wood this time.

We also managed to borrow a big trailer this week and jam packed it full of old rusted gates and all manners of wire which we have gathered from around the property over the last few months. Off we went to the scrap metal yard to make our fortune. After a long wait, we off-loaded all this junk. It was good to get rid of this stuff. We have more yet to clean up but that was the bulk of it. Of course, we got a puncture for our trouble...which we discovered just as we were about to leave for a trial. No amount of bullying would get the wheel nuts off for us to change the tyre so we resorted to putting dogs in the back of Kelvin's car - something we hate to do. We had early runs at the trial so we had to get there pronto...and left right after our runs so we could get to Carmarthen to get the truck tyre repaired.

A good week! NOT!
