Kinloch Cian is a smooth-coated, prick-eared, tri-coloured son of Meg and Jamie. Cian is always into mischief and is curious about everything. He is very enthusiastic when it comes to sheep and he is absolutely desperate to work. He is also interested in chickens, ducks and anything else that moves! Sheep are his thing, though, and he's quite happy to find his way under any fence and gather the neighbour's sheep.
Cian was a challenge when he first started! He was a very quick and determined wee dog but a very good listener and a huge willingness to learn. He started off learning to drive and was very good at that. Then he learnt his flanks and small gathers. He confidently took sheep away from you and, thankfully, he had a very good stop and recall off sheep.
March 2010 Cian was sold and has moved to Brazil. We wish this lovely little lad the best, and we sure miss him. Cian is now confidently working cattle as well as sheep. He won his first ever sheepdog trial in May and was 4th in his first competition on cattle. He won another trial on sheep in August. In September he was 3rd in his first Open trial on sheep and 1st in the Open cattle class. In November he became a double Brazilian National Champion when he won the Ranch category on sheep and on cattle. He is the youngest dog ever to have won the cattle and sheep competitions, and he won 6 out of 6 events to win both titles. In 2011 he was 3rd in the Open Cattle competition at the Brazilian National Championships. Well done to Adao Cesar who owns himand Jorge Luiz who is now handling Cian.
